Joshua Tree: Day of Defying Death 2
Went on a proper hike to Lost Horse Mine (which we broke into) that proved to be another face-off with impending doom, facing a seemingly endless trail nowhere near my car as, again, the sun was going down with no flashlight. But the trail there was spectacular, having a defined line where a fire had swept away acres of desert land, leaving these ominously gorgeous charred joshua trees that were thick black with gold seams and stalks. The burnt away landscape gave me so much inspiration for my next collection.

It was around here we thought death was imminent. But the car was found 20 min later, and celebrating life was had at the local Pizza Hut where our very young, forgetful waitress told us, "I've been forgetting things all day. My mom calls it 'pregnancy brain'."

Joshua Tree: Day of Defying Death
Decided to go hiking on one of the very rare occasions it rains in Joshua Tree. Trying to scramble down boulders when it's raining and the sun is setting is a very tense experience, but beautiful nonetheless.
